I completely forgot to look at your profile and Gallery after we started talking (Always happens. I should get a new memory card installed:P).

Very interesting work! It all looks so odd, but definitely shows you have a lot of skill with what you do. I think the Universe piece caught my eye most!

I saw that you were looking for a crit sharing group :iconcritiquegeeks: might be just what your looking for. Alright, enough plugging my group - let get some feedback.

First of all I love your watercolors. I think it gives your work a very etherial feeling and I think you know that and use it. I think Universe is your strongest piece. It is beautiful and the watercolor and little details really make the work. That being said I think you need to work on the anatomy of your faces. They are good, but theres something just a little off on most of them. In Universe the eye is drawn from a frontal perspective and I think the nose points too far upward. Laura is pretty good, her ear needs to be moved up though and something about the nose seems off. Her mouth seems a little frowny and 'poofy' but that could just be the character. I think you have a good idea where things are supposed to go and working from a reference/brushing up on facial structure would really help take your pieces from student work to something I'd buy.

Thanks for joining! If you know of anyone else that would want to feel free to invite them. Its hard to have a group that gives feedback when no one submits anything lol

I don't know a lot of people on dA but I'll definitely recommend it! Don't worry about it, all things on the internet start out slow. Give it time!

Wow this is so observant of you and all the things you point out are spot on!! I know studying anatomy makes a huge difference but I've always avoided practicing it. Just sheer laziness I guess because it can be a lot of work. And it's too easy to get it wrong! I redrew the eye in Universe like 500 times before just giving up. I hate Laura's poofy lips that was so not intentional but thanks for giving me the benefit of the doubt. But this is making me feel motivated to study anatomy. Already looking up references. Thank you so so much for your wonderful critique and help! :huggle:

:D Of course. I did the same thing, I didn't want to learn anatomy because its really hard to get it right. I've found that just learning proportions helps so SO much. You might not have perfect anatomy but if you can figure out proportions it will improve your artwork and then you can get to the nitty gritty of anatomy. It doesn't look like you do a lot of full body stuff but if you want to [link] is an incredible resource.
